Apple iPhone 5 Back Camera Manufactured by Sony
The Apple iPhone 5 came to amaze us with its curious functions and new improved features. One of its improved features is the 8MP rear-facing camera. Until now we did not have much info about what company produced the camera. As for now, according to ChipWorks, the 8MP camera on the iPhone 5 has been manufactured by Sony.
Take a look at the closeup photo that shows the Sony branding. I guess many of you will not be much surprised as Sony is famous for delivering the camera on the best selling smartphones.
Earlier, the chief executive of Sony, Howard Stringer revealed the company is supplying Apple with camera technology and now everything is clear.
By the way, Sony supplies Apple with rear-facing camera only. The front-facing camera, which is mostly used for video calls and self-portrating is manufactured by Sony’s rival OmniVision.
